The Society for Risk Analysis - Europe aims to bring together individuals and organisations interested in risk assessment, risk management and risk communication in Europe.The Society for Risk Analysis (SRA) was founded in response to the need for an interdisciplinary society which would address emerging issues in risk analysis, management and policy. It operates world-wide with International Sections in North America, Europe and Japan. Any member of SRA who is resident in Europe is automatically a member of SRA-Europe. |

From the everyday to the extraordinary: challenges for risk analysis and managementThe 18th SRA-Europe Annual Meeting will take place between 28th June – 1st July 2009 in Karlstad, Sweden. The conference theme will span across a broad range of issues from everyday risks to extraordinary events. The conference aims to provide a forum for traditional SRA themes such as risk identification, quantification and mitigation, risk perception and communication, policy making and legislation, as well as opening up for new risk-related topics. SRA members who choose to be affiliated to the SRA-Europe Regional Organization (40 dollars) when they renew their 2009 membership will be entitled to a reduction of at least 50 dollars (currently around €33) on the conference fee. We are also pleased to announce two Karlstad Conference Studentship Awards each worth €500. |

A call for nominations has been announced at the Valencia Annual Meeting, 21-25 September 2008. The elections will be organised as follows: Call for nomination: until 20/12/2008 Organisation of a ballot, from beginning January 2009 to mid-February 2009 Announcement of the results and introduction of the new members of the Executive Committee at the Karlstad Annual Meeting (end of June 2009). |
